Best of 2011 - January

Starting a new year it is always good opportunity to review the previous one. I like to browse through me photos again and pick one for each month. It's always interesting to see how my photography evolved over the year. Usually I try out new techniques I hear or read about and many of these come and go. But some of them stay. When I look through my Lightroom library I see how I have different phases like a panorama or a HDR phase. Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures at any wedding during 2011 but I know that I will in 2012. So, here is my first photo for the month of January of my good friend Henning with his dog Emma.

Churches in Mississauga

Although we had heard before that the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is one most the most international places in the world we were surprised to really see the variety of different cultures living together arriving to Canada. Walking through the local mall Square One feels like being on a huge international airport. One way we decided to portray these different cultures is to visit the different churches in Mississauga. This is St. Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church on 3625 Cawthra Road. Unfortunately the church was closed and we couldn't take a look inside.

Advent Calendar 19-24

Christmas is already over but I still had to publish the missing photographs of my Advent Calendar 2011. Unfortunately I had to give up the idea to include the number in each photo. But I managed to take at least one image a day. This is my selection of December 19-24th which we spend in Germany with my brother's family.

Happy 2012

I am a bit embarrassed that I still haven't finished my Advent Calendar. There are still 6 pictures missing. Not having access to the Internet and a computer to download and process the photos I have taken is a fact I underestimated. Once I'm back in Mississauga I will publish the missing days in a blogpost. This reminds me that I still haven't finished my 2010 review either. But I will do better for my 2011 review. I promise.

Advent Calendar 16-18/24

Because of work and traveling I was about to abandon my advent calendar. Somehow it feels like cheating but at least I got 16-18 in the picture. I hope you don't mind.
